Artwork guidelines
PMS-colors
Where computer screens work with RGB colors, painters with RAL-colors, our printers work with PMS colors.PMS is short for Pantone Matching System. Why is it important to know that we work with this system? Studies show that using the exact right color helps increase brand recognition by 87%. That is why we think as a printer it is important to always use the exact same color.
With Full color printing the colors can be different. With full color printing our printers work with CMYK system, so take in account that there could be a difference in colors when using normal printing or full color printing.
Printing options
There are a couple printing options available, this also depends on the product and will be shown on the product page.- Normal printing (max. 4 colors)
- Full color printing
- Engraving
- Embroidered
Logo file
To be able to print your logo and make a digital sample, we need to receive an AI or EPS file. JPG and PNG files are not suitable because they consists of pixels and make the picture grainy when you zoom in. AI and EPS files can be made with the following programs:- Adobe Illustrator
- Photoshop
- Quark Xpress
- InDesign
Text file outline
Are you looking to print text on your product, or does your logo partially consists of text, we ask you to send the text as outlines. This prevents you from receiving the wrong lettering. Some fonts are not in our system, when opening your file, the font will change to a font the computer does recognize. To make sure this does not happen, we ask you to convert the font to outlines and send them as a ttf file. How do I convert my text to a ttf file? Follow the steps below:Step 1: Open Illustrator
Step 2: Open your text file.
Step 3: Choose the selection tool
Step 4: Select your text
Step 5: Select the “Type” window, then select “Create Outlines”
Step 6: Save your file as a .ttf file
You now have converted your text to outlines. Are you not able to convert your text to outlines? Then please mention the font of the text with your order or inquiry.
DPI
It is important that the logo you give us, is of good quality so we can get the best result. DPI, also dots per inch, is a measurement of the quality of your image. It is important that the DPI of your image is 300.300 DPI images have 300 dots per square inch. So, if we have an image that is 300 pixels by 300 pixels — we can print it at 1″ × 1″ at 300 DPI. If 1” x 1” is the final size, we can go ahead with printing. If the image was intended to be printed as a 2″ × 2″ image, the output would only be 150 DPI. If this was intended to be a 4″ × 4″ image, the output would only be 75dpi and the quality of your logo will be grainy.
How to find out what the dpi of your image is? If you want to print an image that is 800 × 500 (points), you need to divide each value by 300 to see how many inches you can print at 300 dpi.
- 800 ÷ 300 = 2,667″ (width)
- 500 ÷ 300 = 1,667″ (height)
